Anthony N. Fierro, Executive Director of Facilities Services has been awarded the Honor Award for Community Service from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Long Island Chapter. Mr. Fierro received this award for his continued support of the educational community and passion for promoting and improving the physical school learning environment.
At 澳门六合图库, Mr. Fierro is responsible for the facilities management of over 1,000,000 square feet of space at 15 locations throughout Nassau County. Buildings include programs for special education, career and technical education, alternative instruction, curriculum instruction and technology, administration, and support services. Under his leadership, he oversees all facets of the agency’s facilities operations, including capital construction, maintenance, custodial services, grounds maintenance, warehousing, security, and emergency response. His contributions in the completion of hundreds of school construction and renovation projects throughout his career have had a significant impact on student success.
In the fall of 2020, Mr. Fierro, in collaboration with the Long Island Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, launched a highly successful webinar series focusing on the future of school planning and design. The overall goal of the initiative is to provide an opportunity for design professionals and the educational community to work collaboratively to explore emerging design principles for schools, in this country and around the world.
