Medical Director Service

  • This service is in compliance with New York State Education Law requiring each school district to have a Medical Director (“director of school health services”, Article 19, § 902).

    Basic Service

    The Medical Director is prepared to assist with development and improvement of district health related policies and procedures. The service will consult in issues affecting district-wide decision-making and serve to enhance consistency in health-related policy and protocols across the district.

    Enhanced Service

    The physician will provide the typical student services of the school doctor as per NYS Guidelines and District Board of Education Policy. All on-site services must be prearranged for a mutually agreeable time. A subscription to the basic Support Service is required. 

    Cost of the Enhanced Service is based upon the module(s) purchased. A visit to the district can encompass more than one school on a given day. A visit includes direct services to students as well as meetings, consultations and clearances that are provided on-site. Unused visits will expire at the end of June and cannot be carried over into the next school year.

    New Employee Physicals

    The physician will provide on-site, New Employee Physicals as per District Board of Education Policy and procedure and as approved by the District “Medical Director”. All on-site services must be prearranged for a mutually agreeable time. Only available with Basic and Enhanced Services.

    Hepatitis B Inoculations

    The physician will provide on-site, Hepatitis B Inoculations as per District Board of Education Policy and procedure and as approved by the District “Medical Director” as well as acceptable medical practice. All on-site services must be prearranged for a mutually agreeable time. Only available with Basic and Enhanced Services.
