As previously announced, our monthly meetings will take on an Edcamp format with participants choosing topics for discussion, and sharing out based on expertise and areas of interest. With so many challenges to address, so many solutions to choose from, and so few meetings to cover it all, we will be leveraging the immense knowledge-base already available to us within the group. Sticking to script we will open the meeting with a Welcome Back to NASTECH from your dedicated BOCES support team and A Few Words from Our Executive Chairperson. After that, we enter the new era of NASTECH 2.0. Drumroll please…..
Anyone who has attended an ISTE Conference is familiar with Ignite Sessions in which educators have a specific timeframe to present their passions in their field of interest. Each NASTECH meeting will begin with 5-minute Ignite sessions to be introduced and modeled this month by our new dynamo Executive Committee on the topics of Student Voice, Data Breach Best Practices, Converting to Office 365, and Internal Innovation Grants.
We will then move into our Edcamp Sessions which are organized under the following categories: District Support/Admin, Tech Table, Instructional Tech, and EdTech Tools. The Ignite session topics are already posted, but we now invite you to use the following link to our to add any additional topics you would like to discuss and/or to sign up for topics of interest. This is an opportunity to share expertise, best practices, effective tools, or pose a question. A Google doc will be disseminated and posted on the monthly Meeting page Resource section to share resources or notes during Edcamp sessions you feel would be of interest to the group.
We will wrap it up with an open sharing session for anyone that would like provide a synopsis of important takeaways from the discussions, or to solicit additional feedback.
